Don't know about secure, but I always sleep like crap the first night I stay for duty" Open bays, semi-private barracks, hotel/lodging for NCOES; doesn't matter. But by the next night I sleep like a baby.

Security never really came into the equation. Kind of an unexpected question, SPC Margaret Higgins. Why do you ask?

1SG (Join to see), this thought originated from my memory of feeling so secure in Basic Training; after the handsome Drill Sergeant had come through to make sure that we all were accounted for (I'm assuming.); and after TAPS had been played.
To this Day; I Love TAPS.

Spent 68-70 in a barracks, and I felt very secure.. however, times have changed and I can not speak of military life after 72, other than I miss it..

SPC Margaret Higgins - Thank you.. yes I was overseas in a barracks 68-70, I only felt Secure because the entire base perimeter was under the watchful eyes of the US Marines, and their constant patrols.. Being radio comms., very sensitive information.. the US Marines constantly secured any change relating to area perimeters, Very secure, Thank You, Marines
