Where am I actually going if my welcome letter says that I have been assigned to 0001 AR REPLACEMENT (WAGE01)?

I got a welcome letter saying I've been assigned to HSC, HHBN, 1CD at Fort Hood then I got a welcome letter saying I've been assigned to 0001 AR REPLACEMENT (WAGE01). Does this mean I won't be working at HQ anymore? Any clarification is appreciated.

The second one is the replacement unit. You are assigned to a brigade, the brigade chooses what battalion and company you will be assigned to. Even if you have a welcome letter your brigade may move you to a different battalion when you inprocess.

1st Cav Division and then you’ll be assigned to a Brigade, Battalion, and Company based off of rank and MOS. Good luck!

Be prepared to adjust fire as you might be assigned to a different unit. Happened to me too, was told I was going to one battalion, I did work there for a while and then they sent me off to a headquarters element with generals, full birds, and CSM's walking around as a PV2.
