Currently going through the 12P, Prime Power Production Specialist, reclass course. Was wondering if I could get any information on the ASI’s, specifically the S2 and S3 ASI’s (mechanical and electrical)?
I’m very interested in both and wish it would be possible to double tap. I’ve always enjoy electrical system and distribution (current MOS is 91D) but I’ve always wanted to get into more mechanical stuff (family has always been involved with mechanical trades).
Any advice would be helpful. Thank you very much ahead of time.

As a Senior Power plant mechanic, I would actually advise that if your strong in electronics and electrical; Go mechanic. Make your self more well rounded as an operator. I have used some of those skills in setting up powerplants all around the world. No shame on Electricians, but after 1 year in a line Power Station we are all even as electricians. As for after the military, I know as many mechs that work as P&C Techs as electricians. PS never turn down a mission, it's all experience gained and worth it. -10 years in Battalion

Awesome, thank you for the advice SSG. I was kind of thinking in that general direction anyways.

Go electrical, it will be the majority of your future work in this MOS. Also, more transferrable knowledge for after your military career.
