I'm looking for any information on what steps to take and requirements to start a small business in South Carolina such as licensing, insurance, etc. Any information on the process would be greatly appreciated. Just not sure where to start.

There should be a SCORE operation somewhere near you. Here is a link. Search this to find local help. Best of luck to you!

Out of curiosity (don't fee; obligated to answer if you don't want to) what kind of business are you looking to start? What you may want to do is go to the local community college and take a couple business class, an accounting class, and even a basic business law class. You never know how this might help you succeed. Starting a business is hard work and long hours getting it established. I do wish you the best of luck.

I'm looking to start a local handyman business. I do a lot of side work and have been establishing quite a bit of clients. I constantly get asked why I don't do it full time and start my own business. So I figured I'd look into it. I make pretty decent money doing simple tasks that a lot of people don't want to do or don't know how to do.
