Possible collusion between Capella University and Nelnet Student Loan Services. Need legal assistance for retired veteran.

MAJ Scott Meehan I recommend that you tag some of the Attorney groups on RallyPoint such as "Attorney" and "Legal Assistance Attorney" and perhaps some of the Veterans Assistance companies. Most likely at least one of those group members could provide you some assistance.

Thanks LTC Ford. I believe somebody did that for me already. I'll remember the next time.

Thank you LTC Shaw. I went to the latter with the case back in 2013 but it was a dead end. I'll try the former after the VA IG is complete with their review.

In 2012, the VA said that my post 9/11 GI Bill funds (being used for my Ph.D) were depleted. Upon further inquiry, I discovered that they tied together my VEAP funds I used for my BA in the eighties, information I was not aware of when I began the Ph.D quest at Capella University.
Latest update: I have since accumulated over $60k in student loans while trying to get my dissertation approved by one single faculty member, even after eight different Ph.D. qualified faculty members had previously approved my Research Plan (RP). Although I brought a complaint up with the VA IG, they closed the case without any resolution. Now, the matter is before the Attorney General in the State of Minnesota and possibly the AG in the state of Florida. The AG in Minnesota is already investigating for profit institutions in other matters relating to veterans.

I'd also recommend Department of Education IG as well Sir. http://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/oig/index.html
Homepage of the Office of the Inspector General. We conduct independent and objective audits, investigations, inspections, and other activities.

Thank you Lisa. Most likely the best route to take for now. I hope it becomes fruitful, not just for me but for any/all veterans who may have been taken advantage of with their education benefits.

I would contact the Department of Education for your state, and then go from there.

Thank you CSM DeWolf. I did go this route in 2013 with the state of Minnesota, the location for Capella University.
