Where can I find open positions in the California Army National Guard?

I am transitioning from Active Duty to CA National Guard and I was wondering about unit openings. On the CAARNG website it says that there are 68W openings for E4's with the 79th IBCT but when I checked with one of the post's reserve component career counselors, he said there was nothing... but then again he didn't check it too long. Something that would help me out very much would be a UIC or some phone number that could put me in touch with somebody I can talk to. I would greatly appreciate any help with this since I only have two and a half weeks left before I leave to come back to San Diego.

Open slots in the retention system are only as good as what the units are reporting. I know my vacancy reports to retention and recruiting are open now, but they had issues in the past with my current unit and previous units. That is why it is important for units to make connections and community with their retention NCOs. You can ask retention for a POC for units in the area and make calls from there.
