I would talk to your leadership. My son is at Ft. Campbell and has told me to advance from E-4 to E-5 is very difficult.

Honestly, the soldier skiing this question has a respectable military service history, shows initiative, and seems to be eager to move up in the leadership ranks I am surprised he has not already been promoted. The 101st has left me frustrated as a veteran and family member of a current soldier. The leadership overall at the 101st seems to be lacking compassion, vision, or proper accountability. Of course this soldier is in 1st Brigade and my experiences are based on 2nd Brigade. In a Utopian Command you are correct.

In my units defense, ive only been here with 1-502 for about a month and a half almost 2 months. i went to the promotion board back in June when i was stationed in Korea. Do i blame my unot for not getting promoted? yes and no. yes, because it took them a month just to push up my board proceedings (it came to the point where i ended up taking all of my info to S-1 myself). But, at the same time, i do not blame them because we have been relatively busy for we are to be deploying early next year. not that its really an excuse, however.... the world doesnt revolve around me and i understand that.

So let me understand this. You just exited a hardship tour a couple of months ago, and you are slated for re-deployment early next year? Correct? 2nd Brigade is also slated for deployment early next year. While you are very forgiving, by stating the Army does not revolve around you, the system should keep track of your promotion status. This is key for retention of good soldiers and leaders. JMO. Thank you for your service.
