Ok Paratroopers,

I'm new to Fort Bragg and in need of a set of black leather jump boots. Recommendation was to buy used. So where can a trooper get a good set of size 10s?

When I was in , they switched from the old GI boot, to that crappy speedlace one, that has become that new half nylon one.

Personally , now I don't know uniform standards now, but I recommend Corcoran jump boots for guard mount/parades. And for regular wear you would need another pair, they are good. Check for leather defect though. Some pair had "spots" that did not shine well. Minus Future. LOL

For regular duty and field , nothing beats the old real Vietnam era green jungle boot with the Panama sole(wellco).(they come in wide sizes too :) 0 My pair did 2 years in the army , and another 10-15 years civilian work (logging , construction, etc.). Most comfortable pair of boots I ever had, still got them , they purty beat up now. They are a good "running" boot too, if your unit is that "gung ho".
If not them, then the old Black learther GI boot since WWII is a good one. In cold weather there was a German boot with a Vibram sole that was excellent.

NEVER BUY USED, and make sure any new you buy actually fit, and as said check for defect in leather, stitching , hardware and soles. If you are airborne your feet are your life. Get the best new and spend the money required for them. Ask around, find someone who knows "boots" to check pairs in store, if the person there is not of help.. The base clothing store(Class 2) will prolly get you the best deals.

I agree with those that have said you do not want a used pair. Get a new pair and break them in for your foot. That said, there are many surplus stores around base where you can get both new and used boots. If you want to buy online, go with http://uspatriottactical.com/jump-boots/

I know this might not be as helpful as you were looking for but being that men's 10 is the best selling shoe size in the world, shouldn't be too hard.

If you are Airborne do not buy a "used" set of jump boots. Buy new, break them in right. I still have mine from 40 years ago.

You might also search on Google for custom military boots I saw numerous links so there's apparently almost a cottage industry of such groups I'd gathered .

Purely as a thought for whatever it might be worth you might try custom fitted individually designed versions e.g. here's one example http://trumold.com/faqs.html hope you might find it and or anything similar of possible use, you might also possibly ask if any local VA Hosp might be able to help get you fitted just in case your own installation might not be able, I have known of such instances where svc mbrs can seek such VA Hosp help albeit rarely certainly if allowed, purely a thought. Then too you might I thought also consider laying out the cost unless prohibitive, then either seeking reimbursement possibly though TRICARE maybe, or, as a necessary work expense, you might conceivably ask someone competent in such things whether boots, as with e.g. uniform cleaning costs etc might possibly be allowed as a tax deduction. Pls understand, I obv have no idea if such things are at all doable, I just thought to offer a few purelymoff themcuff suggestions honest ,as your problem merely struck me as being of interest that's all honest hopemwaa of use be eager for any thoughts many thanks .
