My wife is pregnant and due May 31st. Because of this, the latest we can PCS before the baby is due is April 19th, and my DEROS is April 16th. However with the current stop move of all US military service members from the Republic of Korea until May 6th, we will be unable to PCS until after the baby is born and we get DEERS updated, a passport, SSN, etc. I am told that all of that will most likely take a minimum of 3 months. Will this cause my assignment to be changed? If so, how soon can I expect to find out? Is there anyone I can go to for more information/who would have more answers related to my situation specifically? My NCO is a big help, but he only has so much information and I am his first married soldier with a dependent, and all of this is happening so fast my chain of command is unsure where to even start. Any help would be appreciated.

Have your First Sergeant contact your branch manager this week. They have an understanding of what this all looks like and how it will all shake out. I doubt your assignment will be changed just push your report date to the right some. If this is how things are going down just focus on your wife and new family member, the rest will work itself out. Good luck!

Look this is new to all services- I imagine you are not alone in this bucket- Korea, Italy and other Nations are quarantining so , its affecting tons of people. Do you really want to PCS and be shoved into a quarantine camp upon arrival?

I would rather not be shoved into a quarantine camp, however the question was more of a request for information than a "how can I get out of here ASAP". I was mainly asking it so I could get any information I possibly could regarding my current situation. I understand that I am not alone and that this affects many, many more people than myself. I was hoping that if I asked the question that someone else in the same situation could see the thread and get the answers they need and/or give any information they have to help either myself or anyone else in this situation. I have no idea what I am doing and was hoping to get some assistance

SGT (Join to see) - Again it's new to EVERYONE in the Army. So you're likely not to find anything different on here than your unit is giving you.

Most likely your assignment will remain. It is too late
to backfill you and most assignment managers will leave things the same unless you were slated for a high priority assignment.
