There is (or at least was, I left CA 3 years ago, so it may have changed) some BLM land up at the base of the hills behind Copper Mnt College. I used to shoot my shotgun and M44 out there. Best of luck.

we used to drive a ways out into the desert on BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land, there are plenty of garbage pits you'll come across. just make friends with the local po-po and you should be good! you might even come across a prospector working their claim...there are still open pit mines out there.

Nevada, Arizona, maybe Mexico. Probably NOT within the sovereign borders of the People's Democratic Republic of California though. Strictest gun laws, highest crime rates...must be working though, right?

I love when people complain about California gun laws. drive a few hours and move to Arizona if gun laws are THAT big of an issue.

I did better than that - I moved to the Memphis area, where everyone carries, they sell AR-15s at WalMart, and my preacher rode with me to get our CCWs together...enjoy my home state pal. After 40+ years there, I'm happy to now say that I am NOT a Californian. But you do you.
