This is my first time on eBenefits and I can't figure out where to get (download) a digital copy of my VA benefits award letter. I've been on here for 10 mins with no luck, so thought I'd ask the RP community. Note that I am not looking to get a hard copy version of it -- only a digital copy.

You cannot get a copy of the Award Letter on ANY VA WEB SITE. The VA Acts like that info requires a TS-SCI/SBI Clearance to get access to it. Maybe someday they will give you 'view access' to those documents. It is even hard to get them to mail you a copy of your VA Awards Letter. I needed my third one to dispute a statement on it that the DAV VSO said that he could read on line. Took me months to get my hands on the letter but the VSO had it same day but as an "Unofficial Copy."

the site indicated a must to be enrolled in DEERS to obtain an account; I've been retired for 18 years and im not in the system. How then to get your letter info?

I generated a benefit summary letter and it showed that my disability is service connected. But below that it says value and next to value is the word no. I am considered to be totally and permanently disabled, but below that again is the word value with the word no. My notice changed today from pending further approval to notification preparation. What does value mean in this case ? And y does it say no ? Am I just waiting for my rating ?

It means that a rating value has not been assigned, because it is awaiting decision.
Give it a few days... maybe a week with the 4th of July in there.

You should get one annually from the VA, for exactly this reason.
Give the call center a call and they can get you one.

Tried to register for eBenefits, the form does not like up properly to add Social Security #. Will not let you type it on the lines provided, so it keeps rejecting the #'s.

Drop the hyphens. It should work.
Also your VA case number may be different than your SSN, check your correspondence from them.
If you are just now applying, use SSN.
