When I went through Basic all those years ago, the Army in all their kindness and wisdom took money from me for Savings Bonds, gave me a sheet of paper so that I could later claim those bonds. Well I tried. I either get no response or I'm told they don't exist. So where are my bonds? Who has my money, and how do I put it back into my possession?

Are you talking about the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP)?

The TSP is more than likely what it is. It's kind of like savings bonds. Go on tsp.gov and give them a call. You may find out you have some money with them. If so, I would just leave it be and let it earn interest for the next 30 years. Good chunk of change when you get older.

CPL Bryan Nicholas, TSP is relatively new. It was instituted in 1986, which is after this Veteran separated from the service.

Tough question. Maybe ask some Finance guys for what steps you can take to reclaim your investments. You should have been able to on your way out. Good luck. You will need it. Gov doesn't like giving back money they stole! lol

Yeah, I was told by my 1SG to remove the sticker from my wall locker "Don't steal. The Government hates competition!"

lol! Did you ever hear that there is only one thief in the Army? Everybody else is just trying to get their crap back! Loved that one!
