This is a fun survey to get an idea of how diverse we are as a service. Different regions of the US have different cultures and traditions, different speech patterns. However, it is interesting how much we grow as a person and service member when we are exposed to the world and other's views. So where do you come from?

I hope you didn't have family or friends that were roughed up in Washington. Spent a couple of days there helping with support efforts.

LTC E. Steven Creech My parents were right in the middle of the neighborhood that gotten completely flattened and they survived with only about $12K in damage to their home. Not a good day in Washington, Illinois. Someone was looking out for them. Unfortunately, my Uncle Charles Koonce passed way due to injuires suffered in that tornado and my Aunt survived, but their home was completely destroyed. He was veteran of the US Army as well.

I am sorry for your loss, COL Mikel J. Burroughs. I will never forget the lessons I learned from those two weekends at the IEMA ICP in Washington. First, our perceived supremacy on this planet is obliterated when nature's power intersects with our civilization. But even more importantly, I learned (well, re-learned) that we can be a very compassionate and self-less species in spite of ourselves.
