I went through AD BOLC but looking at AGR positions, they are few and far between. Since I have a teaching and technical background, I was thinking either AG or Signal. I feel like Signal may help more with finding either GS or Tehcnician jobs with the military if I can't find an AGR, but I'm not sure. I don't pin 1LT until 15 June so I've got plenty of time to worry about it. Just wondering what are some peoples' thoughts. (Looking at transfering from the Ohio National Guard to Florida after this current mobilization since my wife got accepted for a post-doc in Miami starting in May.)

FL ARNG is much smaller than OH ARNG.
FL has an IBCT, ADA BDE, RSG and a Troop Command.
Use ADA for the transfer, but AGR best options are AD, IN and LG.
Pretty much in any state you can't go wrong with 90A CCC for AGR.
Many AGR officers are the basic branch they started with and 90A.

You need to understand the state military department structure to understand what full time jobs exist. As am M-Day soldier I started as a GS-5 Technician in the safety office. Others positions are in the DOIM as information services such as telecom and computer network services. USPFO has both civilian GS as well as technicians and AGR position relating to finance and logistics. Also personnel services such as HR has a few positions in both tech and agr. You may also want to check out the state military department's job postings to see what is available.
