Since many of us have the opportunity to travel the world and visit historic battlefields, which sites would you say have been the most memorable for you? For me, it has to be Belleau Wood with a good Marine buddy of mine, and the site where the 3rd Infantry Division adopted the nickname, ''Rock of the Marne'' in Mezy, France.

I was at Gettysburg in 1982. It was the last weekend in March and a very cold wind was blowing that day. A friend and I went up on Little Round Top. As I stood there I swear I could hear the shouts of the Southern Soldiers as they tried an assault on the hill. It gave me goose bumps! I believe this place to be hallowed ground.

Atlanta, where a beautiful city was destroyed but was rebuilt into a more beautiful city. Tokyo, it has become a pearl in Japan.

Fort Niagara and Fort Ticonderoga were very awesome to a young boy and has helped to shape my love for history and the early American battles.

That I have been to thus far, Gettysburgh, or maybe Valley Forge. It's very sobering to stand at either and contemplate the price paid by those who had gone before.

The Korea War Museum in Yongsan-Gu, Seoul, Korea. Our Yongsan base is walking distance to it. It is fantastic and the best of all military museums around the world. While people will say the Imperial Museum in London or The St Petersberg museum in Russia but the South Korean museum is updated and clean. They take donations of old gear.... I will be going there in Oct, if you have an idea. Or something you want me to take. The do give credit to the donor of the gear.
