Which is the better choice? On Post or Off Post Housing at Bragg?

Imuch rather prefer off post. But like others have stated make sure you take a look at the crime maps

My personal preference would be off post. It is easy to do, plus you get the advantage of the BAH. One just needs to do their research on different crime rates around Ft. Bragg. I lived in a nice apartment (James Town Commons) complex outside Yadkin Gate and within the first two months, there we two drive by shooting at the houses across from us (outside the fenced APT complex) and we had a suicide located in the APT below us.
On the other hand being an MP on Bragg, I would say the crime rate is much lower on post, but like any military housing neighborhood, we had our fare share of stupid calls where neighbors are complaining about the most minuet thing. If you have a family with small kids, there are nice playgrounds and pools located in all the housing neighborhoods, something that you don't always have if you live off post. This is just my take on it.
