I'm looking to go either 15p/q or 35f/s or 25u. How likely do you think I'd be deployed with whichever reserve unit I'm with while I'm in college? As in, how needed are these jobs?

Out of those three, I'd say 35F. They always need them.

Aviation deploys a lot. Regardless of active status. There's a guard unit, here in Iowa, that deploys like every 2 years almost guaranteed.

Former active duty 15Q and I had to beg to deploy, finally did with the 101ST, but honestly 15Q is the best MOS (bias) unless you can get 17C (cyber) 15Q would give you your FAA certification and really it depends on your unit's rotation if you deploy or not, not necessarily the MOS. If you are looking to set yourself up for the future 15Q, (really long schools (17C, 25D)), 25N, 35Q, 35F translate to nice civilian careers.

35S very rarely deploy from what I've seen. I am a Sierra and have seen multiple NCO's that do not have deployment patches, even seniors. 35N is a more advanced 35S that has the field training to do the job. 35S most likely go to Korea for a year or Australia. Unless you are Airborne, then you are likely to go SOTA .

EVERY MOS is likely to deploy but not every MOS is in every unit, except 25U. 25U is in EVERY unit that has commo. They call them 25 Universal for a reason. They are pretty much the jack of all trades in the S-6/ Commo Shop. While their official job title sounds radio(ish), every S-6 assigned uniform also learns networking, active directory, wiring, imaging, work order management, vehicle comms support, crypto,...... I could list more but I think you get the point.

Look I'm not going into detail like some of these guys. Why? Because you're not in the Army and you haven't received the proper training or developed an understanding on what some of our acronyms truly mean.

The most important factor you must look at is what will make you happiest job-wise. You will be committed for several years so you need to take the time to figure out what you can see yourself doing in the long term. Will deployment opportunities arise? Yes! Just take advantage of them when they do.

Have a good night!
