I was selected to attend the USCG Chief Petty Officer Academy in 1996. That was preceded by the Senior NCO Leadership and Management School in 1988. Both events provided excellent skills' development and networking environments for the Coast Guard's top enlisted personnel. And they were a lot of fun, too. Did you attend your service's NCO academy? What did you gain from your training experience?

Hey, Admin...keep your goddamn mitts off my posts. Your changes did nothing. The clarity was there already. You accomplished nothing by your editing but to piss me off. You're no Enlgish professor!!!

Thus, the reason I no longer post anything on RP.
I will reply and share knowledge but flat out refuse to contribute in a way that is tantamount to censorship. What I do find amusing is they, meaning admins, will change every post for clarity but they wont change "mispelled wurds".
I had an at length email exchange with one of the admins and his reply was: "There are many reasons why admins change the titles of posts. This is how RallyPoint operates, and as it is a private site we reserve the right to so in order to promote meaningful discussion. No disrespect was intended, but please understand that we value the work of all the admins who take the time out of their day to make this website run smoothly.

Yes, very little, waste of an operators time. Most of us that weren't socialites felt that way too. We really learned how many should not be there but were too.

SGM Barry Kindred
Just because I'm not ring knocker does not mean I should have been declined attendance.
I'd say maybe the school wanted me more than I wanted it. How's that?

SGM Barry Kindred - I never understood what they could possibly teach an E09 at a 1 year course. I get they provide time to pursue college but that isn't what an academy should be for and if they haven't figured out how to be a Senior NCO by the time they have 20 plus years, they're probably way outside their depth.

Your last sentence, SGM Barry Kindred, says it all. Dismayed, disappointed, and disgusted is how I feel about a pathetically high percentage of persons in the military ranks today, and going back a good fifty years or so to the time of my initial enlistment. I couldn't believe who was getting sworn in just meet quota (Viet Nam War period)...and it hasn't improved much.

SFC (Join to see) ... I learned a few very good supervisory skills. And I also learned how to take a nap without snoring and still keeping my eyes wide open!!! You think that was bad, I could shrink the three month DOJ-DEA Intelligence Analyst training school down to 2-3 weeks of the necessary and important items. The rest was pure unadulterated, waste of time fluff!!!
