Who can be contacted to find out when a basic trainee will have his family day? He is assigned at Fort Benning.

My grandson is assigned to Bravo 1-50 Infantry Battalion for basic training. His mother would like to visit him for his family day, but is having a hard time contacting someone for specific dates and times. Their website (benning.army.mil) has limited information. Is there someone she can contact that could help her out? Thanks.

MSgt Timothy Nelson, I suggest using the Facebook as it is an unclass site the family members can access and keep updated as to the status of their Soldier. SGT(P) (Join to see) provided a link and they do a dang good job keeping it updated. By the way, my youngest went through his OSUT in 2013, and that's how momma kept updated, they do a great job at adding photos and keeping the families informed.
Believe it or not, we kept up with our sons going through RANGER School through the Facebook.

CSM Michael J. Uhlig MSgt Timothy Nelson My wife was updated of everything going on my BCT on FB. They did a great job too and, sometimes, they got to see a picture or two of me while in training.
