Who do you trust with your donation in times of disaster?

Sadly, this is a very necessary question and a very tough on to answer. Few who served in combat theaters trust the Red Cross (at least that's my experience - yours may be different). My wife and I just donated to the Cajun Navy (it's not tax deductible but we don't care - we're more concerned that the money will be spent on behalf of those in need - out of respect for those visited by Hurricane Helene, I won't use the word victims - they aren't acting like victims).
