Who else had a law enforcement/first responder job after discharge?

After being a Signals Intelligence Officer, I applied to the Pennsylvania Organized Crime Commission, doing what I did overseas. They said I was not qualified. SAY WHAT???

I have been a volunteer firefighter for a number of years. In fact, almost 25% of the members on my Department are former military - a surprisingly high number given the percentage of Veterans in the general community.

I contemplated it, but police work isn't be for me. I'm more of a last responder, though I don't think most state medical examiner systems would recognize my autopsy experience from the military.
