Many of us started our climbing expedience climbing in and out of our parents lap, and graduated to escaping the crib, climbing up the stairs or onto a chair. Then once we could play outside we climbed on playground equipment, trees with low hanging branches, and some of us climbed structures in towns and cities where we grew up.
Since most of us were in the military I expect that many of us have been rock climbing and some are mountain climbers.
What did you like to climb when you were young? Do you still like to climb?

LTC Stephen F. I had a tree house and still like climbing trees because of that experience. You can't take the kid out of the passion for some things.

Never met anything as a kid that I didn't attempt to climb, even if it was ridiculously unsafe and "not allowed." Sometimes I look back and wonder how I never died or broke any limbs. One of my brothers fell out of a tree from pretty high up and broke his arm, but even his experience (that I witnessed from high up in the tree with him) did not deter me from being the little "spider monkey" that I was often referred too. Apparently this is something I have passed on to my children as well.

I am thankful the Army taught me to fall in combative training, in Jump school and other training PO1 (Join to see). I expect you have taught your children how to fall safely.

LTC Stephen F. Oh yes, not that they listen much. It is the classic case that we had when we were young children.
