My great uncle who was a machinist mate on the USS Yorktown during WWII. I didn't go Navy but instead joined the Army as a medic (25th ID) then an LVN at the Army Burn unit.

Since my family was military I decided to join and I could learn electronics. GrandFather had 43 years in the Navy, my Father had 30 years in the Navy and my brother was in the Navy, I decided to join but I went in the Air Force for 20 years. I learned about electronics, got a BS degree in EE . The Military was the family business.

I was born into military family where both grandparents/parents served in the military. They've set the example of serving God and country. They've given me an opportunity to attend UW, but after a year I chose to enlist. My grandparents/parents honorable service influenced me.

Best thing I ever did with a hangover. Vietnam was going full tilt and we decided to drink a few. The next day my friend Charley and I were trying to get rid of the grogs and we saw the Army Recruiter walking down the street in Somerset, Pennsylvania. He was quite knowledgeable in everything we asked but Charley and I sort of convinced each other to join. He separated after Vietnam and I went on for 29 1/2 years in the Regular Army and the National Guard as an AST and then AGR.
