My older brother who had served in the Navy as a Submariner influenced my decision to join the Navy.
I have never regretted his influence.

My great grandfather was in the Danish Navy. My father was in the U.S. NAVY 1932-1936 AND AGAIN 1942-1945. The military was a family thing.

I come from a military family, from world war 2 to current. My dad was a Korean war veteran, he inspired me to join the army a year before I graduated from high school. I loved serving this country. After all it taught me to be a good man and father and grandfather, also a great husband. I have no regrets.

My stepdad, Walt Wylie. He was a Vietnam veteran and a gentleman. Cool as a cucumber, great outdoorsman and a true patriot. I love him and miss him beyond words. He helped shape my life.

Failing Grades prompted my father to put a boot up my backside - the best thing that could have ever been done.

Several uncles were in the military and several men at the church I grew up in were as well.
