No one influenced me. I wanted a college education. I couldn’t afford one, so I joined the Army.

No one, family couldn’t afford college, no academic or athletic scholarships, and no jobs available to me in 1975 so I checked into the military liked what they were offering so I took the oath.

Family history. All males in family as far back as WW1 that I know of served. The family was in every conflict since WW1.

My oldest brother, Navy- Korean War, next oldest Marine Vietnam Veteran 13 month tour, next brother Marine VN era Grenada and me VN era then nothing but BS. I was very disappointed and it boiled over and interrupted my service and I got an Honorable Discharge on technical laws. I should mention my Father was Army not sure of era.
