I joined the Navy after I went to an ROTC event for Army ROTC. I did not enjoy it came back to school informed the LtCol that I was joining the Navy.
I always wanted to be an oceanographer so going from the army to the navy was easy! Much better bases on n the navy!

The selective service. I lost my student deferment and did not want to be drafted and be sent to VN as infantry.

My husband had been in the Military, and when he got out I sure missed military life. Lived in a small town and started college. About 4 years later I told my sister in law I was going to talk to a recruiter. I did. I even took the test. Then I told my husband I wanted to go in the military, health field. He supported me , and I went in later in life at age 31. I loved it. Knew what to expect. Spent 5 years in and had to get out on medical. I never regretted any of it. I now volunteer for the VA with the Guitars for Vets Program. I give back. I am thankful for all my medic a l and Dental care. Thank you.
