My best friend and I decided together to join on the "Buddy System", as we were in line to get our draft notices.

I was going to collage when I got my draft notice.

Came from a family of Veterans and wanted a better future for myself. It was the chance to serve with great people from all-over.

We talked each other into joining the military when we were Juniors in High School...Career day and we choose to visit the 153rd HHC Huron SD.....I got deployed to Afghanistan, he did not...he was killed in auto accident while my deployment...

Father and 2 uncles were Navy..Family Tradition.

I had myself take me into it Jan 1954 and retired Feb 1974.,

Life long friend Joel Guerrero who enlisted after JROTC.
