I'm a little late to the discussion on this one but...

We gave a tank ride to Drew Carrey back in the early 2000's while in Kuwait for one of the Intrinsic Action deployments.

Had a visit at NTC from Brad Pitt, Shia LeBouef, a few other cast members and production some of the film crew while "Fury" was in pre-production. Shia wore ACUs with SPC rank and our Driver had no idea who he was and kept asking him if he had any smokes.

I wouldn't exactly consider him a celebrity, but I once met SMA (R) Chandler when he was visiting Ft. Bragg. He passed me by at the SSC. When I greeted him, he stopped, looked me up and down gave me a brief nod and said "Nice haircut, Soldier!" and then walked away. I was confused and excited at the same time. Hahaha

Casper Van Dien and Adrian Paul. I met these 2 gentlemen when they came to a local sci-fi convention in my area (same convention, different years).

Of course I got photos with them and autographs, but what I really enjoyed was just being able to talk with them for a couple minutes about our families. It's nice being able to talk to a celebrity as a down to earth regular person.

Wow...tough to decide who is the most famous...

1970 - John Young (astronaut) visited our USAF JROTC class at Mainland HS, Daytona Beach FL and talked with us for a hour or so. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Young_(astronaut)

1971 - On a class trip to NYC, we ran into Danny and Marlo Thomas walking through Central Park. They spoke with us for a few minutes and posed for photographs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Thomas https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marlo_Thomas

About 1984-85 - Colonel Robert L. Howard, U.S. Army, at Kelley Barracks, Stuttgart, West Germany. Col Howard was a guest lecturer a few times in a University of Maryland class "Vietnam in Film and Literature". At the time he was the Commander of the VII Corps HHC when I was a part of the VII Corps ALO/TACP. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_L._Howard

2009 - Actor Robert Patrick - twice. First time was Reno NV at the National Coalition of Motorcyclists (NCOM) convention. Then I ran into him a couple of weeks again in a Pentagon parking lot at the 2009 Rolling Thunder event in Washington D.C.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Patrick

I have had the opportunity to work with and meet some well-known people over the span of my years of life, which is climbing. But the biggest honor was meeting Ron Rosser, Korean War Medal of Honor Recipient. Picture below from 1996, I am on the right. By this time I as a contractor for the Army along with my good friend on the left, Gunner Wagner.

I can't say I actually shook the man's hand, but I saw my mentor Chet Atkins in a Tucson concert and was mesmerized by his guitar work and his singing of, "I Still Can't Say Goodbye." From what I know, Chet lived a modest life and kept himself out of the limelight other than on the stage with other guitarists. When he died in 2001 I shed a few tears.
