R. Lee Ermey might be one of the more underrated actors of our time. However, my favorite, as was the question, has to be Sam Elliot as CSM Basil Plumley.

SFC Bill Snyder
After he dies in Columbus, Ga, some reporter (?) questioned some of his Decorations/Medals and places he served, one being Korea. They are doing to him what they did to Chris Kyle. Revisionist Historians gotta downgrade American Heros.

Dale Dye to me, is the iconic military actor. Not only was he a Marine during Vietnam, but I would bet that he is in most military movies and you did not know it. You will have an Oh Yeah moment once you know who he is.

I like him for the way he trained the cast of "Band of Brothers" as well as the role he played.
