17 Street Glide. I ride with my brother in law and a few friends. Keep the group small to keep the drama small.

TSgt David L. - LOL, I serviced 36 bikes today, continued the build of a good customers WR450, another customers RZ350 and looked at my bike and thought I should work on it tonight.......lol, not gonna happen.

SGM Erik Marquez - Wow! That's humping (Although it IS Wednesday! LOL) for one guy. Even if it's just oil and filter.
I'm just doing friends and family for the most part. Can't do a full day so I just do what I feel comfortable with. These extended bags are fiberglass so they need a ton of massaging to look good in the end. Black, the only color a Harley should be, is a bitch to make smooth.

TSgt David L. - Ha, I missed your response
Service has a something different meaning when it comes to our training bikes.
If none of that ranges bikes were crashed (rare) then servicing is fueling, 22 point inspection, minor adjustments. Crashed bikes get some additional inspections, bent levers, bars ect replace... Then we have repairs when needed, run ability issues, broken shiftier or shift shaft, worn out tires, charging systems not charging....ect.
Its a never ending list.
A range fleet of 10-12 bikes takes be 2.5 hours on a good day to service, much longer if the last coach had a bad day....

SGM Erik Marquez - Got it. I thought you were talking about oil and filter type service. Having taken the BRC (3 times) and ERC (twice) I've seen what you're talking about. Lots of low side lay downs with bent/broken levers and shifters.
I was supposed to take the Instructor course but after getting hurt in Iraq it changed my plans. I was an ASI Instructor (MSF's ATV training course) for 15 years so I was looking forward to the motorcycle side of it.

I taught myself to ride on a little Honda dirt bike in an arroyo behind my apartment while I was at Ft. Carson.
From there I jumped to a Norton Commando. And the Gold Wings. I recently sold my latest GoldWing because it is getting to heavy for my failing knees. But I still ride and I'm currently on a Honda 1100 shadow. Over 40 years on a bike!

SGT Tim Tobin - Heavy bikes I'm very familiar with. The Harley touring bikes are around 900 pounds. I had to install a lowering kit and a low seat on my wife's Street glide so she can mostly flat foot hers.
