Kinda like I herd of a pilot whose first name was "General" and he would have his co-pilot tell the tower, "general"----- was on board. he either got a laugh when they landed or his butt chewed, depending if the base commander thought it was funny or not.

Yes COL Mikel J. Burroughs I am familiar with Sergeant Alvin York the MOH recipient who took out 20 German soldiers during World War I. It is a great story of heroism. Thanks for posting.

Great Story! Gary Cooper did a great job playing him in that old flick. The best part was when he told the General that he had to kill in order to save lives.
