I'm also curious why the standard was raised by 9 SECONDS for that event. What is the physiological /fitness reason for going from 2:00 to 2:09

It's because the first two minutes are easy, it's the last nine seconds that get ya lol

I could not do a leg tuck at the time so I opted for the Plank. I rather do a leg tuck than a plank lol

There is probably some statistical model in place to distribute pass and fail, and there were too many passes, and to get the desired distribution it fell at 9 more seconds. If people were failing it left and right they wouldn't have bothered changing it.

Now, in terms of WHICH exercise I plan, it will be mood based. Plank is PASS/FAIL with a minimum 60 points, yes? I can do 1 or 2 extra leg tucks which would be a few more points, but at no point will I try and do my best at any given event at the cost of failing any of the other events.

So............. that said............ getting 60x6 is far better (100x5)+59, and knowing I don't know the unknowns in terms of trying to do a full ACFT in a tested environment I'm going to choose the path that ensures an event is passed with the least amount of effort and just move on.

A perfect ACFT score is worth a mention in an OER, but can be bested by someone who knocked out PME in the same rating scheme who barely passed ACFT but passes nonetheless. A failing ACFT is lethal and results in a referred Evaluation and can't counter someone who finished PME, planned an entire exercise from beginning to end, and had actions that resulted in hundreds of millions of tax payers savings and improved operational practices.

Sir, the plank is now a scale from 2:09 for 60 pts up to 4:20 for 100 pts

Who selects the plank over the leg tuck?

Perhaps the reason is not physiological, but rather psychological: Jedi Mind Tricks.

I pick the plank over the tuck. I'm up to 2:30 but have absolutely no upper body strength.

I’ll be shocked if either stays in the final ACFT. The leg tuck is what most women seem to be failing. That and the sprint drag carry.

We have a soldier in our office who cannot even come close to one leg tuck, but knocked out 2 min on a plank with zero training. Everyone is different. I would 100% choose one leg tuck over the minimum plank, each are 60 points. However, some individuals would say the same for the plank.

The sm decides if they want to attempt the leg tuck or the plank. Not sure why they added 9 seconds.

I know the SM decides it. My question was meant as a poll. As in, Who here does the plank and who does the tuck
