Why are politics in sports?

BLUF: We like adults that play children's games for millions of dollars.
People are divided on players "taking a knee" during the National Anthem because we like sports as entertainment.
ESPN fired Curt Shilling for stating political point of view - that's their choice. Today I click ESPN to catch up on children games and see anti Trump opinion articles... I guess nothing is sacred anymore.

In 1994 the was a baseball strike... haven't warched MLB since. Won't ever watch NFL again. Thank God for premiere league soccer (ManU & Arsenal) & college football. Occasionally pro rugby (Haka on All Blacks!) f*ck the NFL
The opinion of these highly paid entertainers is no better than yours or mine on any subject. They should stick to doing what they get paid for, playing games, singing songs, or playacting, or dancing around undressed in public.
