Why are soldiers in uniform at the NYC Bomb site? Do we have a unit in NYC or Reserves or National Guard there?

National guard they do security at transportation hubs in the ciity

I wouldn't mind doing that as NG, I know some SM who really take to the weekend warrior thing but when the State or Uncle Sugar comes calling we go end of.

It's a form of State Active Duty. For some it's their full time jobs. It's similar to a tech job with some units. Basically they guard different areas, including terminals and critical infrastructure. The state has been doing it for years since 9/11.
