honestly i had difficulties with my chain of command due to the fact my squad leader felt he could religiously persecute me all my coc did was tell him to stop but he did not. now on rally point i was called an abomination because i practise wicca now if i made these comments to christians i would be strung up and verbally drawn and quartered albeit i admit i insulted another by calling him a sheep. but in the end i apologized. however have i ever recieved apologies for the insults thrown my way no. so has anyone else that are not christian had these problems? if so what should we do to defend ourselves. or should we just be carpets and let them walk over us?

PFC Chris Hemingway As far as your actions go, all you can do is act professionally and with integrity. The best way to go about this in the military is to perform your duties with distinction and not mention religion at all. This was more easily done for me because I had/have no religion. But, outside of talking to the chaplain to obtain the services you require, you shouldn't be looking to discuss the matter at all in conducting your duties.
UNLESS your attempts to sidestep the issue are futile. If members of your unit are ACTIVELY seeking you out and making your JOB more difficult, you need to bring this up to your chain of command. Keep a diary of sorts; a journal to record these incidents and your responses to them as they happen (date-time stamps, weather, unit activity, everything) (in this journal, be completely honest about their actions and YOURS).
If it is your chain of command, go to your chaplain, as they have their own chain of command. If this doesn't work, continue going up the chain of command. Inform you first-line every single time you need to contact someone above him/her in the CoC. If you feel intimidated by your chain, or they're not doing anything about it (don't expect instant results), there's always IG.
The army has mechanisms for you to address grievances. I'm sorry if your first-line isn't supportive. But you need to handle this with PROFESSIONALISM and INTEGRITY, or you'll definitely make things worse.
Good luck.

Many holes in this story I feel. But, I am going to toss some thoughts in the air. You are listed as a Veteran with the rank of E-1. That tells me you...A) did not make it through BCT/AIT.....or B) did not make it very far after BCT/AIT. Regardless, it would appear that you were separated for some reason. Ill mannered conduct perhaps, based on what you have written.......perception can be such a double blade. It would also appear that you have a chip on your shoulder created by religion.......again perception rears its nasty head.....
So you are a Wiccan......good for you. You have a faith that works for you. But you appear to have an attitude that does not work for you. This is not a land of entitlement. You have Freedom of Religion rights, yes. You also have the right to turn around and walk away when someone gets in your grill about your religion. So someone wants to give you grief because you don't believe the same as they do. Be the bigger person and walk away. Don't give them the ammo they want/need to keep popping shots at you. But, if you think you are entitled to an apology, you are going to have a very long beard if all you are going to do is sit and wait for one.
Get up, dust off those insults, straighten your tie, and move out and enjoy life the best way you can. Someone gives you grief, the best way to handle it, is to smile at them and move out. If you cant to that, life is going to eat you for breakfast every day for the rest of your life.

Actually made pfc b4 I got out But I also made a few mistakes that I do not argue deserved punishment and received article 15's for but they had nothing to do with this however it is possible that due to a mild untreated tbi and PTSD I wasn't fully acting right which caused the second njp. However at the time I did not realize that I had either but as I said neither of those had anything to do with the harassment that I received.

With a higher ranked person it isn't always possible to walk away. There is this thing called "an order". I agree with some of what you said "blow it off and carry on".
Anyone that carries a chip on their shoulder, is due to get the chip knocked off. Regardless of what the chip is.

This is something that should be handled in a discussion between the two of you and not to air out your dirty laundry in front of the community. Your thread title is offensive and clearly argumentative.

Finally! A voice of reason. Since freedom of religion is a right guaranteed by the constitution and since we all took an oath to defend the constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic... how about we dispense with all the discussion and criticism or any post that has to do with religion? I mean the only point of each article seems to be the same, to throw a religious faith under the bus, hide behind an absence of faith, which is really merely a different kind of faith, and write inflammatory comments simply designed to generate controversy. Ostensibly all designed to simply generate points.
