Why do my PCS orders to Korea say 8TH Personnel Command when I am supposed to go to Camp Humphreys (to 2nd CAB)?

All inbound Korea assigned Soldiers must come to the 19th PC in Yongsan Garrison to inprocess and get their pinpoint orders to Camp Humphreys.

SFC (Join to see) - Thank you. Our son is being sent over and his orders said CRC but I heard it was closing so was wondering if he may end up in Humphrey.

Everyone reports to 8th Personnel Command (Inprocessing Main Unit) before arriving to their designated unit. Sometimes the original orders change depending on needs of the Army.

Replacement Detachment, similar thing happens in Germany (21st Replacement). You go to 8th Replacement, inprocess, mandatory in country training, then your unit has to come get you. If there is an immediate need of another unit that is higher priority, they can reassign you. The more senior you are the less likely that is to happen.
