Why do science and religion always have to be different?

In science I believe the term "morality" is replaced with the term "ethics".

Through out history, inexplicable events have been explained in ways that the people of the time could make sense of. This is not "hand-waving". It's like this... how do you explain to a child how a vehicle works? Do you go into each and every governing laws of physics, laws of thermodynamics, mechanics etc... Or do you explain it in such a way a child would understand?

You have to remember that biblical events are explained in such a way that a people who has little to no knowledge of science can understand. To do this, you cannot use a literal explaination. This is why in the bible it actually says that how God perceives time is VASTLY different than how man perceives time. There is logical, scientific basis for this. We know that certain factors can have an effect on how time lapses. For example, we know that the faster one approaches the speed of light, the slower time progresses. This is fact. A being who is omnipresent would have to occupy all spaces in the universe simultaneously, which could be interpreted as a speed at which this being travels. If we look at the laws of physics, we can see that the speed at which one travels alters how time passes for that person. This is pure conjecture, but it is logical. You cannot explain this to a man from 4000BC and expect him to understand it.

Are you kidding me? So these are all proven facts? And anyone who disagrees isn't capable of being a real historian? Your credibility went completely out the window when I read that. Sorry, but you need to look up the definition of the word "fact."

It doesn't matter what people SAY. It's what they can PROVE. I don't care if Einstein said the sky is pink. Nobody can prove Jesus was crucified because nobody has found the body of Jesus. Nobody can prove he was buried, either. Just because his supposed tomb is empty doesn't mean he resurrected. Did you ever stop to consider the possibility he never was buried in the first place? Or that it may have even be ransacked? Let's not forget the possibility that he never even existed in the first place. I'd be willing to accept that a man named Jesus did in fact exist around that time, and probably did do good things and all; but water to wine? Sorry. Gonna need some proof, brother.
