Why do some feel the need to shout about their religion?

As of late I can't help but to see religion being screamed about the forums. That is great. I am proud you have the ability to do that but why do we some feel the need to shout how Awesome they are or to antagonize others for their perceived lack of faith. I just seems to me you want to feel persecuted. If you didn't care what others thought then why did you have to tell them in the first place?
I see so much lip service about it that it is reminds me of the pharisees. I remember something from my studies like "The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: 'God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector." Man, I can't help but to think why crazy that is to see someone say they are more awesome than someone else.
I think Gandhi said it best when he said “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”

CPT Pedro Meza : Technically, you just did. However, I will concede that you're trying to make a point... What you should have taken away from this though, is that there are those who do insist on shouting loudly that "God doesn't exist", or "the Bible is fiction" or similar. There are some Christians, who do proselytize and run around preaching to anyone who will give them a half-second. I am not one of those. If you do not believe, that is your belief. I think you are wrong, but that is my opinion, just like you think I am wrong for believing. I will listen to why you don't believe, if you choose to tell me, but in turn, you will have to listen to why I do believe. Fair is fair right? You get to say "I don't believe", I get to say "I do". You get to say why, so do I. You start trying to convert me to become an Atheist, I get to start trying to convert you to becoming a Christian. I really don't care, and in case you hadn't noticed, I haven't made many comments on this post, because it's a stupid post. I think it should have been taken down because the post is serving no purpose other that to stir a big pot of stink, and to me, this post is worthless, but at the same time, I also understand that there is an amendment to the Constitution that says free speech is a right - and that's good - so yes, the post can and must stay up unless, because this is technically a private site, the admins deem otherwise. Perhaps you find something in it. Good if you do. I don't. And as for drinks: I'd be glad to meet you at any decent bar so long as we can stay off the topic of religion - but you're the CPT, so it is you who must buy the drinks! ;)

SFC (Join to see) - Interesting reply because it appears that you are judging me for not believing in whatever you believe, because my reply was about those shouting back to those that preach religion. There is no need for me to shout about my beliefs because I use my Free-Will to practice the teachings of a Jewish Rabbi whose wise teaching are not practiced by those that claim religion. As for drinks I buy first round but you will buy the next and also any bar is decent to me, I am not offended by naked bodies because they have nothing to hide, I have learned to see the soul of the person and not the outer form.

I disagree with your premise that the reason someone is shouting about their lack of religion, is because others are shouting about their belief.
While that does happen, what I have observed more often, is someone asks: "So, do you believe in God", and the Christian answer's honestly. The person who doesn't, then starts trying to convince the Christian he is wrong.
There are those who are on mission, or who deem it their personal mission, to try to convert others to Christianity, and that's because the bible says that you should. While I understand they are trying to save others, I think once the person says "I'm not interested", that should be the end of it.
There are also those who insist that you must convert to Islam, or be beheaded...
As for a decent bar, I mean it has to serve decent beer. Not just Bud, Pabst, and Schlitz...

SFC (Join to see) - I like that we agree on what is a decent bar, but on quoting the bible to convert others to Christianity when it is a fact that Jesus was Jewish or Muslims will behead your if not converting to Islam is foolish because I have never heard of Muslims here make such claims.
