At what point does our current body armor and other personal protective equipment become prohibitive on the battlefield? What would you change in the IBA/Helmet arena if you could?
I feel from my experience that mobility increases survivability and lethality in most cases (some exceptions such as EOD are obvious) and would like to see the DoD spend more time and effort on light more durable end items for the Service Member.

Although I would have loved to have had a modern plate carrier in RVN both as a grunt and tanker. We were, it seems much faster and lighter, going out on four hour patrols in a soft cover, (maybe a flak jacket), pistol belt with mags and a M14. Seems Ludacris today now that everyone looks a bit like Robocop. I look forward to this thread.
