Why do you think there are so many school shootings now as opposed to say 25 to 30 years ago? We all know that guns can’t shoot themselves, so obviously that is not the problem in my opinion. I honestly believe that there is a direct correlation between the rise of school shootings and the taking of God out of the classroom, and kids not getting a well deserved a** whooping. Thoughts on this?

I agree with your two points: God bring removed from schools and zero discipline (both academic... Such as detention with extra reports, or my favorite... Physical punishment in conjunction with detention and extra homework). I actually believe men have damn near disappeared. These snowflake underage males have no real men to guide them into being real men, because they have no father's. Are bullies part of the problem? ... Yes, because if the bully has a dad, his dad is likely a large coward picking only on the weak, and his kid does the same. The bullied kid likely doesn't have a dad to teach him that when required... after you attempt diplomacy... You must Savagely physically pursuade a bully to leave you alone. My opinion is based on personal experience and those of most my friends. Yes we all were physically persuaded to be respectful both in school and at home... And yes we all had fathers and even mother's for that matter that were fully willing to physically persuade us to be respectful to them and others.

I've done some reading about this particular subject, quite a bit lately. I have found several things they shared. these kids were from single parent homes with the father figure not present in their lives. It seems that they were also tormented by their peers for whatever reason the tormentors could find. Nearly all had access to firearms through family members or owned firearms. They all picked gun free zones to do their deeds. All had mental illnesses, whether or not they were diagnosed before their crime sprees. These each aren't enough to arouse alarms, but as a whole, these taken together should be a warning. Even when one shooter lost his firearm rights, he managed to get firearms. I think that the concept of moral behavior is slowly being replaced by rudeness and abhorrent behavior. I'm sure there are other things that these situations have in common too, but so much information isn't available to the public.

I think it's a left wing scheme to ban guns, the more school shootings the better chance they have of achieving this. By the way we never are told the gun man's political leanings.

I think its due to children not having the social coping mechanisms to deal with confrontation due to being sheltered and so sucked into there phones that they've lost the problem solving skills obtained through social interaction and minor confrontation

Soft targets with high terroristic effect. Nobody likes seeing our kids shot up and schools are a likely and easy target.

Good question, maybe it’s all because of the media hype and constant violence in our everyday life in our society. We now have access to everything and anything in our lives today than 30-40 years ago. The mindset of our society and in general our families breakdown comes to my mind first. You have children growing up with no father or mother figure. You a one parent, who is most likely working while the kids are at school and home alone. You have bullies that want to prove to themselves that they’re great people. Children see people doing things bad and get away with it and they tend to follow that trend. You’re right about one thing though. Our Society as a whole need to be addressed at the lower level of our communities, to our families, and our law abiding people. Will this help with the children harming others? I don’t know, but I pray that it does.

I think taking God out of school have no impact on the students. As a parent I do see more kids being disrespected and also bullying more then when I was on school. With the cellphones in school the school should have a cellphone jamming so the students can learn and not be on their phoned.

I agree with your opinion but wish to add more on Parenting and the indoctrination of our youth in the school system. We used to learn many things that would benefit us in life while in school such as cooking, sewing, wood working, metal working repair of small and large engines and so on ... now that is also not the case. Plus our youth is being taught many things that are just flat out wrong. Math problems that took us 2 steps to complete now take 10-20 steps and if they get a wrong answer they are still correct because they showed the work to get the wrong answer. Spelling doesn't matter as long as they are close to the right way to spell it or it can be read correctly. and there is an Anti American attitude in the schools like never before. Plus some parents feel it is up to the schools to raise their children and allow their children to do nothing all their lives but play video games or leech off them instead of doing chores and teaching them responsibility.

Because schools are gun free zones. To be exact kill zones. No one there to return fire.

Today everything is about right here right now satisfaction. Everyone want's respect but no one wants to give respect and they have forgotten you have to give respect in order to get it back. People are allowed to bully each other in and out of school even though the school has a no bully pollicy kids find a way to get around it and still do it and get away with it so you have a kid that is a lone rapped up in a world that has no real face to face contact no respect and in a no on to talk to most often or no one that is hearing him or her. And no disapline they are not taught right or wrong or how to deal with life or people or that they have to take responsibility for what they do.
