Why do you think there are so many school shootings now as opposed to say 25 to 30 years ago? We all know that guns can’t shoot themselves, so obviously that is not the problem in my opinion. I honestly believe that there is a direct correlation between the rise of school shootings and the taking of God out of the classroom, and kids not getting a well deserved a** whooping. Thoughts on this?

I think our children are in large part, being raised by their schoolteachers. These are generally leftist who have no respect for life (pro abortion; with little respect for the military (sequestration) or other American institutions. Next in most large cities mindless violence in always occurring and it covers the TV. No values are being implanted in many of our children by parents, such as honesty, self reliance, hard work and compassion. This my take.

When I was i high school I had 2 shotgun and a rifle in a gun rack of my truck. And got my farshare of being bullied and never even thought of take my guns into the school and shooting the place up. I would just pick a fight with the bully and try to kick his ass.

I think it is because parents are so tied up in trying to make a living that they don't have time to be full time parents. Thus a lot of kids are basically raising themselves. Then when they make a mistake, a lot of the time they don't have anyone to correct them. So they don't learn that all their actions have consequences.

1. They took away the ability to discipline kids from the teacher and parents.
2. They always try to blame someone else. Bad parent, bad teacher, coach etc. No one will accept
Responsibility for their own actions.
3. People need to give kids a stable house. Weather single or married. Be a parent not their damn friend!

Beginning in 1960, liberals have been insisting on the eradication of the Judeo-Christian ethic on which our country was based. That has meant the elimination of God in our schools and largely in our society. In 1973 it became legal to murder babies --God's creation-- in the womb, or even minutes after birth. Every form of aberrant sexuality is now not only legal but celebrated. Welfare is expected. My view is that God has said "You don't want Me? You prefer death and sloth and irresponsibility over obedience to My Word? Very well, you can't have Me. I will allow Satan to run amok and infect your society with havoc."

Quit blaming one party or the other. It is the people that lose no matter who is in. The officials are out for there level not us.

Who knows for sure what's going on in today's youth. They say that there were more acts like this in the 80's and 90's then there are now, but I find that hard to believe specialty when the so call news is in your face 24/7. What I do know is everyone is overly emotional about everyone's feelings or afraid of being sued and it all starts in our school system...a kid can't be a kid anymore look at your school years and ask yourself what's missing today? I believe kids today are afraid to take a good old ass beating from each other and yes they no longer know how to communicate or cope with others because of the internet/ cell phones. They are always asking advice from others then thinking things out for themselves. 25, 30 years ago cell phones came about and so the increase in shootings...maybe their minds can't take the RF, and they want to roll out 5G, we all know we have use this in the military...for what?...
We can also say it's the lack of parenting, but one has to be truthful with themselves to admit to it...we all can stand back and point fingers, but I believe we need to talk with our children ask them what's going on and let them know we have their backs but also teach them right from wrong, and respect to others and not to be afraid to put your foot up your child's ass when necessary.

Personally I think the way society is going now did this...because like many have said there were guns forever and kids used to go hunting before school and parking lots in schools were filled w/rifles in the kids pick-up trucks and it was never an issue. Society these days outwardly at least is very democratic/liberal in nature, I say outwardly because despite all you "hear" and "see" as far as open hate against anything right leaning and trump...he won which leads me to believe that while the media openingly oppose as they have done since the campaign trail anything trump and amp people up left and right w/the fear mongering, etc people, alot of them still voted for him. Anyway...there is alot of open hatred and animosity the last few yrs....towards the idea of traditional 2 parent households, towards free speech, towards the idea of a fetus having inherit value and the right to live, towards anything that would be categorized as a conservative viewpoint, towards the country in general, the flag and anything else that doesn't fit the social justice/progressive mold. These ideas are constantly being push by the dems and the media, there constantly lying then retracting stories to stir the pot. The openly glorified violent hateful groups like antifa and the BLM to everyone and wonder why kids think it's perfectly fine to automatically resort to violence and have no idea how to cope with anything. It's alot that lead to this. the fact that we can no longer properly discipline our children doesn't help.

I do believe that you are on the right track, but there needs to be consequence's for ones own negative actions. It never hurt to believe that the principal might wish to help you see the error in their ways. They need to rekindle the children's desire to learn. It is all about the end of school year exams that are used to decide if: 1) Child has learned anything and 2) if the teacher has taught the child anything. The latter is demonstrated by the scores the child receives from the test. The teacher is then graded as well! But anyway the bottom line is below!

"One of the biggest thing contributing to violence is the fact that the shootings are being sensationalized on the news. The child see the shooting result and have to one up the last incident. Keep the incident off the news."

We have a society that is morally abstract. "If we don't all agree about what is right and what is wrong, then morality must not exist at all... So I can kill people who don't matter to me and it's okay." We glorify people who commit these murders ie Tsarnaev Boston bomber on the cover of Rolling Stone. Even negative publicity is publicity. Most importantly, schools are extremely soft targets and we advertise the fact. "This school is a gun free zone" Many schools still conduct fire drills where kids march out single file and line up along the fences. Many schools leave doors unlocked. Most schools HAVE video and audio recording. In reference to school shootings this only allows a murderer to document their actions and does nothing to prevent it. In the late 1800s- early 1900s fires were killing scores of people. We eventually had had enough and got our act together. Panic hardware on doors, fire extinguishers, self closing fire rated doors, smoke detectors. How many people died in fires this year? Very few and typically due to problems that were known and ignored. We need to have a similar revelation to combat shootings (not just school). Abolishion of open ranges (Gun free zones), dedicated armed personel, lower the tax burden and degrading treatment on the average person being wishing to legally own and carry a weapon, and becoming a society that is realistic about the risks (Israelis are used to rocket attacks and accept that it may happen at any moment and know generally what to do, the western countries are still very naive about the risks). Perhaps we should consider more carefully when we are going into a public event. Most are uneventful but ever ballgame, concert, parade we're taking a risk. Many attacked can't be stopped except by a high likelihood of failure and difficulty in carrying out an attack (even then?). My $0.02.
