Why do you think there are so many school shootings now as opposed to say 25 to 30 years ago? We all know that guns can’t shoot themselves, so obviously that is not the problem in my opinion. I honestly believe that there is a direct correlation between the rise of school shootings and the taking of God out of the classroom, and kids not getting a well deserved a** whooping. Thoughts on this?

I attended public school in the 50's and early 60's. I don't recall God being part of the curriculum, but most everyone did attend church on Sundays. My parents and the school were stern disciplinarians. I mean the teachers actually walked the halls carrying boards. I had total access to my father's guns and anyone who's parents owned them did as well. Yet the thought of using them for anything other than what they were intended never crossed my mind. And, I never heard anyone else threaten to shoot anybody. I really think bullying might be one of the major causes of school shootings today. I mean people bullied kids back in my day, but now it's like the whole school attacks one person.

I agree God has a LOT to do with it. Also we need to let them know that they are NEEDED, AND LOVED, and an IMPORTANT part of our society. If the students felt better about themselves and their fellow students I believe there would be less shooting. Students, and everyone in general, need to love themselves FIRST and that should overflow to their fellow students, their peers. Morals is the toughest to teach kids bc they don't totally understand them. We are ALL here to HELP EACH OTHER, not hurt each other.

Lack of good parents is a reason. Not the only reason. But the fact that so many kids are being raised by U-Tube instead of Mom & Dad as well as lack of respect for life due to the computer could be a reason.

There are many who will claim this is about God or religion. I disagree. Blaming Liberals for kicking God out of schools is a symptom of the real problem. The REAL problem is parents teaching their children that someone else is at fault for everything that is wrong.
If you want your kids to know about God, YOU TEACH THEM. Don't expect someone else to do this, and then use that as an excuse for why Little Johnny is such a terror. If you want your children to respect others, YOU TEACH THEM. If you want your children to accept responsibility for their actions YOU TEACH THEM, perhaps with a board or a belt if they are especially stubborn.
At the core of these problems is the cult of blame. I can't do anything about your children, but I and only I am to blame for how mine were raised.

Social media where children can bully each other on Facebook, Twitter, etc. Then it becomes pay back time. The schools are to blame also. The school in Santa Fe Texas allowed the shooter to wear a black trench coat year round. So are they surprised when he shows up with weapons under his trench coat? The father of this shooter didn't keep track of where his firearms were located, so the kid saws off the barrel of the shotgun to tote to school. The only hero was the school police officer who got shot in the line of duty unlike that coward in Florida. Back in the '60's when I went to high school, there was a .22 rifle range in the school and I attended the Army ROTC program. We got to go to an Army Reserve range and shoot the M-1's we drilled with. We didn't have school shootings back in those days. If someone was going to bad mouth you, it was done among students in secret, not on social media like today. The Genie is out of the bottle now.

Seriously, not enough of old school discipline. Yeap, butt whoop'ns and just telling kids "No." Plus now days a lot of parents just don't parent for if they did and knew their kids - actions, routines, moods, and behaviors, then they would know if their kid was being bullied or was off-in-their-heads mentally. Truth be told and you have heard it first hand from students that even they knew the "said shooter" was not right in the head and/or was being bullied. Kids need to know it's the fucking right thing to do to tell the teachers, their parents and authorities. HOWEVER, even that has failed us in that one shooting where the kid was investigated.
So in all, it comes down to parent(s) and peer pressure.

Society has banned the good old fashion discipline. When little Johnny gets into trouble we want to blame anybody or anything except little Johnny.

There aren't as many as the liberal media want you to believe. In truth, over the last 35 years there have only been about 20 actual school shootings. The media has used things like criminal activity near a school and a child was caught with a gun in his backpack to inflate the numbers. Most of what they put into the "school shooting" category is nothing of the kind. You can do your own research and find this out for yourself.

There's no father in the home . That's part of it. Little boys NEED a father figure to look up to and idolize. You know, "When I grow up I'm going to be just like my dad". MY dad was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. I joined the Corps in 1981. My dad was an honest, hard working man who never put himself forward, bragged or said a bad word about anyone.
The welfare system has made it possible for women to crank out carbon copies of themselves without having the personal responsibility of supporting or being married to a good man who can support her and her children.
This "gotta keep up with the Jones's" mentality is forcing the mother out of the home so they can afford a "certain lifestyle". Greed is killing this nation.
When you take God out of the schools (some are replacing it with allah) and tell children that they are nothing more than a slightly more evolved form of animal life, they have no sense of purpose. No reason for being. They are an accident with no reason for being.
Lastly, children aren't being taught the value of human life. They aren't being taught the value of good reputation. criminals are glorified. Law breaking is glorified. Hell, when a political party defends a gang of troglodytes like MS-13 simply to gain power, something is seriously wrong.

Lack of parenting turning public schools into free daycare centers focused on antisocial indoctrination. Many young people harbor resentment because their parents are not home for them when needed. The growth of dysfunctional families over the past 590 years has done much emotional damage and created chaos in the mind of our youth. They no longer trust authority, because the crucial authority models by parents have been absent to do more important things than raise their own children. Society along with our corrupt media and politicians keeps looking in the wrong direction on purpose, so they don't see that they are the for reason of the radical increase of the school shootings we are witnessing today.
