Why does it seem guys tend to use the same tools for a project: duct tape, pliers, knife, extension cord, and coat hanger?

If it works it is not stupid. We as a Nation tend to overthink everything. I had a problem with ladybugs in the bathroom, instead of getting caulking I used elmers glue to shut the bugs out. Hey it worked.

I am retired.....I opened my tool chest and took out a lightweight set of ratchets, a flathead and a Phillips. A small lightweight hammer. Then I gave all the rest to my brother, If I need them he comes with them.... My Motto these days are simple, if it moves and is not supposed to, Duct tape. It it doesn't move and is supposed to WD40. Any additional problems call brother....

In my junior high school, you had to take shop class in the 8th and 9th grade. In the 8th grade, you had to make one project, using only hand tools. I never quite finished mine. In the 9th grade, you had to finish one project with hand tools, and then one with the power tools (lathe, band saw, sander, etc). I never finished either. But the shop teacher was also the wrestling coach, and he needed me to pass to stay on the team. Otherwise I'd still be in the 9th grade.

Their well known dependable standby's. It's better then an old saying a farmer once said about Kansas: Kansas was held together with spit, and baling wire.

Are there any more tools that are needed? Maybe a hammer and some 550 cord?
