Why does it seem like Junior Enlisted do not participate on RP discussions?

Updated at 825 a.m. 16 May 15 The results show it is fear of influence from the senior military. So now my question is what is the issue her?
Updated at 210 p.m. 14 May 15 Believe it or not the polls are pretty even. We have so many good comments and participation that all levels can learn something from. Take the time to read the comments and then give your input.
Updated at 1040 a.m. 14 May 15 This is all great feedback so far keep it coming and thank you to the Junior Enlisted who have responded so far. I encourage you all to participate because your opinion does count.

Most lower enlisted do not know about RP, I was informed about it from my former commander. As for the lower enlisted like myself on the site, I honestly think it's fear of discussion with higher ups.

Maybe Junior enlisted are not that interested & too dam busy doing their jobs .They want to be more efficient in their MOS or Ops Specs than discuss Trumps hair or Hillary's dam emails. Hell when I was junior enlisted I was just worried about staying squared away & not getting on my Plt Sgt's...." Shit List" and to keep from getting extra duties i.e cleaning heads, mess duty, firewatch, or Field Days...Not easy being a grunt so why would they care about RP & us Old Farts have to say?? Most of it is BS anyways,,

I agree as well SGT Oxendine. E4 and bellow if properly indoctrinated, are aware of their position as subordinate and they are in a intensive learning curve. When asked a direct question you will get a direct answer, but more than that is not a customary interaction. For instance when I was on the flight line in SAC the average rank of the enlisted corps was E7. I kept my mouth shut, used my ears and what was between them. I might ad that I was always treated with dignity and respect, but I did not "shoot the shit" with the senior NCO's or Officers unless encourage to do so and even then with cautious respect of rank.

Just a comment, that has no teeth...if you're still a SM, you probably have much to lose if someone recognizes you...if you're a veteran and out of the military...who's give a damn?!

Because it seems from my observations, that whenever a junior enlisted asks a question, they are ridiculed, their experience questioned, or someone of a higher rank pulls rank on them and it's wrong on all levels. People come on here to learn and grow as SMs as well as network not to be bashed or name called or rank pulled.

Cpl Kenneth Darby - it alright if you disagree, I've personally witnessed my position to be true and not just a hyperthetical. Like it or not, Rank is variable in military forum. Could it be , by your admission, you come off condescending sometimes is why you get attacked. People don't like that regardless of rank.

PV2 Lisa Wilcox,
Unfortunately, I share your observations. It is difficult to participate in a discussion when one fears reprisal, not only from RP members, but also from their immediate CoC in the event that said RP members choose to contact them.

PV2 (Join to see) It is a two way street i have seen Young enlisted post junk questions just to see if they can get a reaction. It is a two way street. Some of the question and answers can be a little harsh but i find most time it is lack of information that becomes the problem.

I am new to RP and make sure to choose my words and responses wisely because of my lack of knowledge along with being in since breakfast. I did not even know it existed until I saw someone repost an article on Facebook from RP. I joined because it seemed like a good network with applicable discussions.

As a retired veteran this is a great site to re - learn about the Military branches and make new contacts. Junior Enlisted to me were the eyes and ears of the work force, a lot can be learned by all NCO's from their soldiers sailors airmen and marines. My .2 cents.

The lower ranks don`t realize that they know stuff , that we don`t know. BECAUSE they work in an office doing the things that we are discussing . They have the expertise & know age that is needed here. they just don`t realize it.

Welcome to Rally Point a little late however a welcome is a welcome. I learn a lot just from reading posts then i find some that need response and some that is better to just scroll by. But it can be fun.
