Why does it take an act of congress for a Senior NCO to be selected or considered for IG or EO assignments?

Last several NCOER's have stated IG and EO for possible assignment.

It doesn't at all! It simply takes you contacting your branch manager and you meeting the screening process like all other special assignments. If you're having trouble try talking to the counterpart be it civilian or green suiter. That still doesn't work call your branch SGM

1SG thanks for the response. I have done these and actually was not released by my CSM in Korea several years ago.
