Growing up as a kid in Rhode Island, it wasn't like we had Asian places on every corner. We didn't, and if you wanted something different you got this stuff: Chun King. This awful stuff is an embarrassment to all things culinary that comes from Asia. It was my first exposure to Asian food, and my mom made the stuff. It looked like nuclear reactor waste with some crunchy noodles. It wasn't until I was stationed in Holland some 20 years later would I ever eat Chinese, Thai, and Indian food and developed a liking for it. But first I would have to overcome my fear and loathing of the dreaded "Chun King." I am sure some of you can recall this stuff, or have a phobia of certain foods based on experiences as kids or young adults, feel free to share them.

C'mon, that isn't Asian food. You have to visit the actual country, wherever to see what Asian food is all about. I love it there, hate it (OK a bit strong) here in the USA.
