Why, oh why does the military make PT uniforms that are larger than the size required to stay in said military?

What else do you want them to wear to sick call as they're being discharged for being overweight?

Are you talking about how when you go to clothing sales the only size pants they have are 28 and 40 inch waist? At least that is how it is overseas where I am!
I see what you're talking about though. Especially with the blues pants. There is no need for some of larger sizes for men! And I think women have special maternity pants so the regular blues pants don't need to go so large either!

I think the waist measurement should go away as a whole. I have a 36" waist. However, I am 6'6" 240 lbs. I've scored above 90 on every PT test. I would have to drop weight to score much higher. Just because I am not a stick (with no strength) and can not run a 1.5 mile in less than 9:30 doesn't mean I am out of shape.

They AC measurement is a great way to get overweight people out of the Air Force. I never max the waist, and I am okay with that because I also score in the 90's every time.

I'm the same way. I know going in that I'm not going to max the AC, but I know I will do fine because I can max everything else. But those that are truely overweight will have a hard time making up those points in the other areas of the PT test.
