Why would Fort Jackson MEPS still say that I'm in the NG, even though I was discharged to the IRR and I have my DD368 signed and approved?

My recruiter requested my records from Fort Jackson MEPS from when I enlisted in the National Guard. Long story short their records show I'm in the National Guard still even though I have my IRR orders and my signed DD368. Anyone know why or how to fix this?

You will remain in the IRR National Guard until you ship out to Active Duty. If you do not ship before the 368 expires you are still in the IRR National Guard. Now if it is showing that you are still in the National Guard and not the IRR, you should be able to go to your guard unit for them to fix it

Confused why anyone cares? A signed MEPCOM Form...I forget the number but it does not matter...your recruiter can pull your records over to that service? The MEPCOM record is going to stay with the previous service until it is transferred in their system. MEPCOM's records are will not change until the request is turned into move them. One signature and problem is solved. Sorry I have forgotten the form number, but it has been a decade or so?

Top, Not judging but you already know the deal....just knock them out. :) Of course, there are a couple versions of the 680...the old pink ones will always be my favorites but I think they are automated now?

Everyone is over thinking this. We would pull MEPCOM records between service daily when I worked at the MEPS. He may, at some point need those additional docs, but he just needs the Guidance Shop for the service he is working with to pull the record over to them. My question really is, what are the Paul Harvey's in this question? Like to know the rest of the story because something is missing.

I think that is what the PV2 was asking...you may have had a better read but MEPCOM only does what the services tell MEPCOM to do. Any coding with MEPCOM is separate from anything that happens once they ship.
