I am prior service. Serve 7 years in active duty and was honorably discharged June 2019 and I have thought joiningthe National guard. I enroll with the Va and went to my initial appointment and was prescribe anti-depressants for possible PTSD. I don’t think I need them but I have been taking them. Now I have a possibly position on USA jobs as a title 32 position. My concern is I have done some research and have read that antidepressants disqualify you for 12 months and you have to be off them safely. My question is will I still be able to join if I could get a waiver from my doctor stating I am mentally fit to return to service? Please let me know thank you!

Your doctor can't issue a waiver, that will have to come thru the Service Med channels. Your DR can submit statements but that's all. MEPS and higher hold the cards.
