At the end of the year I’m going to school to reclass (35L) at Ft. Huachuca. According to AR 600-14, any school that’s 20+ weeks or has multiple phases that accumulates to 20+ weeks is considered a PCS. Otherwise, it’s considered TDY.

The “course length” is listed in ATRRS as 19 weeks 3 days. However, since my school date encompasses the holidays at the end of the year it’s two weeks longer (21 weeks 5 days).

So my questions is, will the reassignments manager at MPD go by the course curriculum length or the time from start to finish of the course?

Any insight and information is appreciated.

FYI
I won’t receive my follow on assignment information until around the end of August this year.

I will say my information is dated, I graduated CISAC in early 2010, but at that time I was in a TDY enroute to next assignment. I recommend you talk to either the school house directly or post on the CI recruiting website. You should also receive your school packet with soon and it will include order specifics.

You will go TDY enroute. 180 days or longer is considered a PCS move, this is what the MPD will utilize. Good luck to you....

35L is a TDY enroute course. It's not up to reassignment to choose whether it's TDY or PCS. Your orders will say your follow on assignment with instructions for TDY enroute within the special instructions. You'll receive those 90 days prior to training start.
